I was relieved to find out it had a name and that there was a protocol. So, of course, I wanted to become a patient of hers, but she wasn’t seeing patients any more. My heart sunk. But then I found out that she’s written a book and that book was called Detox or Die and it saved my life.

Coming face to face with my own mortality was scary but it was also a wake-up call. I was one of those people who always thought I had plenty of time. But after that experience, I realized that we never know how much time we actually have and that if I wanted to write a book, I better get cracking!
